Yes, We DID Celebrate Christmas!

I realize that I have been very, shall we say, LAZY about blogging lately. We're still here. All is well. Things are good, actually. And really not even overly busy. Just nice. Russell is in his final semester of his MBA program! YIPPEE!!! It's been a little over four years, I think, since we started down this road, and here we are, finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The next order of business is finding him a job closer to home....

As the post title indicates, we did in fact celebrate Christmas around here, I just never blogged about it. I stuck to my guns this year on taking Christmas Eve and slowing it down for my family. And IT WAS AWESOME! We had this:

And we ate some of this:

(That, by the way, is about the yummiest Chicken Pot Pie EVER!)

After dinner, we watched a short slide show of the Savior, set to the song "Oh, Holy Night". We discussed the meaning of each of the symbols we use at Christmas time and tried to focus on the true meaning of the holiday. It was just what I hoped it would be.

Then, to top it all off, we had a bit of a Christmas miracle:

Yep-snow! We had a white Christmas here in north Texas. It was perfect.

Christmas morning there was some of this:
And this:
And some of this:
And, of course, a whole lot of this:

And then, after a day out in Alvarado with Russell's family, for the annual Christmas Day Nerf Gun War, there was some much needed this:

I'm glad to be back--blogging in full force--preserving these memories and sharing happy times with you!

P.S. Updated the anxiety post today, if you're following that story...just click on the link on my sidebar...

So fun to see how your family has grown. You have to be thrilled that the MBA schooling is winding down (been there; done that). And, yes, we want you back HERE! Keep up the good work.
