I forgot my camera!!! How do I blog with no pictures?
For Thanksgiving this year we went to my brothers' house and feasted with his family, my parents, my grandparents and my sister-in-law's parents. We had yummy food and more yummy food. I tried the cranberry sauce this year. I believe it was my first time, but it was pretty good. I LOVE honey-glazed ham-it's my favorite thing. I also love Grandmama's cornbread dressing. Holy cow it's fabulous.
After all of that yumminess we headed south of Fort Worth to my in-laws in the country. We ate some leftovers and played games. I sat down with my nephew, Jake (20 years old) and played "Bella's Lullaby" at the keyboard. Very cool, for those of you who like to play the piano-if you go to Youtube (I forgot to ask how to look it up) there is a "guide" of sorts to actually show you how to play it. There's a keyboard and the keys light up as you're supposed to play. They come down the screen ahead of time so you can be ready. Anyway, Jake and I were pretty good. We had a really good time.
And we are so thankful to a loving Heavenly Father who has blessed us so abundantly!!!
Tonight we went to the local Christmas thing on the downtown square with mom and dad. It was...nice. I'm trying to see the good in everything. One really fun thing was a big "snow hill". Real snow. You just went up the stairs on the side and then slid down on a tube. The kids loved it. Well, most of the kids loved it. Makenna wet her pants. Don't tell her I told you...
Of course, I forgot my camera again. I had it, but left it in the car. The picture above was taken at one of the vendor tents. They took them and gave us a CD for free. I like free.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that you remembered to be thankful. Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up in the doings of the holiday and forget why we have it in the first place. I'm going to be mindful of that as I head into CHRISTmas.
